This exciting new Ofqual recognised qualification has been developed by CIBTAC and MATA to provide the knowledge and skills you need to enter the specialism of aesthetic therapies. It will give you the best possible foundation in anatomy and physiology, skin analysis and client assessment, health and safety in the clinical environment, beauty therapy science and an introduction to laser and light and energy based interventions.

The qualification has the following compulsory knowledge modules, delivered via the MATA learning community:

            • Anatomy and physiology for skin therapies
            • Skin structure and function
            • Patient consultation, communication and care in the aesthetic sector
            • Patient skin analysis and assessment
            • Beauty therapy science
            • Health and safety in the clinic environment

            All of the expertly written learning materials are available through this MATA learning platform to prepare you for the written examinations and practical sessions. You need to complete the knowledge modules and written assignments before attending for two days of teaching and assessment where you will consult and assess clients, complete your portfolio work and take written examinations – all supported and overseen by MATA and CIBTAC tutors.


A new Level 3 Ofqual regulated qualification offered by CIBTAC and only available via the MATA learning platform. It is designed for those without a beauty or healthcare background wanting to enter the aesthetic sector. It is recognised by insurance companies and once you have successfully completed it, you will be ready to move onto higher level courses and qualifications.

        • There are two written assignments and a risk assessment as parts of the assessments but we help prepare you for completing these via the drop-in chat sessions on the learning platform.
